A New Chapter for Isle of Skye: Torabhaig Taigh Establishes the Distillery's "Smoke with Taste" Identity

Torabhaig, the emerging distillery on the Isle of Skye, has officially announced the launch of its first permanent core Single Malt Scotch Whisky — Torabhaig Taigh. Previously, this young distillery primarily showcased its craftsmanship and aging progress through the limited Legacy Series. The introduction of Torabhaig Taigh marks a new phase in the brand's development, establishing a regular offering that allows whisky enthusiasts worldwide to consistently enjoy its unique flavor profile.

Named "Home," Crafting a Unique House Style

The word "Taigh" originates from Gaelic, meaning "home" or "house," symbolizing that this whisky represents the distillery's purest "House Style." Torabhaig defines its core style as "Smoke with Taste," emphasizing that peatiness should not be a one-dimensional sensory hit, but rather exist in harmony with rich complexity. Bottled at 46% ABV, it retains its natural color and showcases the characteristic resilience and delicacy of Isle of Skye whiskies.

Masterful Cask Fusion Highlighting Terroir Complexity

Regarding the maturation process, Torabhaig Taigh skillfully blends First-Fill Bourbon and Refill Bourbon casks, with a small portion of Madeira casks added for increased complexity. The nose offers maritime smoke and forest notes, the palate is silky like vanilla custard, and the finish interweaves red fruits with spices. Additionally, the label was created by artist Aileen Grant, reflecting the distillery's tribute to its terroir. This new release not only solidifies the core lineup but also demonstrates the maturing expertise and long-term vision of this young distillery.
