Consignment - Seller's Guide

Alcohol Please (AP) understands that every bottle in your collection holds value and stories. Our primary goal is to provide a platform with a clear process and a broad base of whisky enthusiasts, enabling a smooth transfer of value for your collection. AP focuses on acting as a neutral process manager for this service, dedicated to offering a fair and transparent transaction system, ensuring every step of the process is orderly.
To ensure service quality and manage workload in the initial phase, we are temporarily only accepting applications from clients who have had previous transactions with AP (based on website and communication records) before September 20, 2025 to become our consignment sellers.
Please read the following detailed guidelines for becoming our consignment seller carefully.
Step 1 Prepare Your Listing Information
Clear and accurate information is the first step to a successful sale. Please prepare the relevant information for your bottles according to the following requirements.
1. Photo Requirements
Please click the button below to go to the upload page. All photos must be square (1:1 aspect ratio), clear, and blur-free, accurately reflecting the actual condition of the item. After uploading, please notify us via Whatsapp and provide the price and Whiskybase ID.

Front and back of the bottle If there is an original box, please take a photo of the bottle with the box. Ensure both the front and back labels are clearly visible.

Vertical fill level photo If the above images do not clearly show the fill level, please place the bottle upright and take a photo that clearly shows the liquid level inside. If your bottle has a design like ceramic bottles where the bottle body is not transparent, please contact us directly.

Bottle codes If applicable, please photograph the laser codes or batch numbers on the bottle. If you do not wish to disclose the Bottle Number (e.g. xxx / 350), please redact it yourself.

Close-up of any flaws This is a mandatory item. If the item has any flaws (e.g. scratches or stains on the label; creases or damage to the packaging box), please be sure to provide a close-up photo of the affected area.
2. Product Information
To ensure standardization and accuracy of information, we strongly recommend providing the Whiskybase ID for the bottle.
After submission, our system will automatically retrieve basic information about the bottle (such as distillery, year, alcohol percentage, etc.) based on this ID. Therefore, please double-check that the ID you provide is accurate.
Step 2 Understand Fees and Pricing
1. Listing Fee

To maintain platform quality and prevent abuse of listings, a symbolic listing fee of HK$30 is required per bottle (this fee is non-refundable).

For every bottle successfully purchased on the AP website (including consignment items), you will receive one free listing credit (calculated from orders after September 1, 2025).
2. Free Pricing Principle

As a neutral intermediary platform, AP believes in the principle of free market. Please determine the price of your consignment bottle yourself.

We will not interfere with your pricing, but please ensure that the price is within a reasonable range.
3. Commission Structure
We use a tiered commission rate. The higher the selling price, the lower the commission rate, to reward high-value consignment items.

Step 3 Sales and Handover Process

Obtain Consignment Number Upon successful listing, your item will be assigned a unique Consignment Number for your future tracking and communication.

Buyer Inquiries When a buyer expresses interest in purchasing a consignment bottle, we will contact you to confirm if the bottle is still available for sale.

Buyer Order Placement Upon confirmation, the item will be temporarily delisted. Once a buyer confirms the purchase and completes payment, we will notify you immediately.

Item Delivery Please ship or personally deliver the item to our Kowloon Bay Showroom within seven business days of receiving our notification.

Inventory Update Obligation We understand that your collection may be listed on multiple platforms simultaneously. If the item has already been sold elsewhere or is no longer available for sale, you must notify us immediately for delisting. Failure to notify us in a timely manner on more than one occasion, affecting a transaction, will impact your future listing eligibility.

Information Modification Before the item is sold, you can contact us at any time to modify the price or add supplementary photos.
Step 4 Seller Responsibilities and Platform Guarantees
1. Item Warranty and Responsibilities

Item Consistency You must ensure that the bottle ultimately handed over is the exact same bottle as shown in the photos provided during listing. If there are any discrepancies, the transaction will be canceled, and you will need to retrieve the item yourself.

Ownership Guarantee Listing the item signifies that you guarantee legal and complete ownership of the item, that its source is legitimate, and that there are no legal disputes.

Information Accuracy You guarantee that all photos and information provided (including condition descriptions) are true and accurate.

Compensation Liability You will be fully responsible for any losses incurred by the platform or the buyer due to inaccurate information provided by you.

Shipping Risk You assume all risks during the transportation of the item to the AP Showroom (including damage, leakage, or loss). Please ensure proper packaging.
2. Platform Rights and Guarantees

Disclaimer AP does not independently verify the liquid inside bottles or the authenticity of the bottles themselves, nor is AP responsible for the information you provide.

Platform Rights AP reserves the absolute right to refuse or remove any listed item for any reason, including but not limited to poor item condition, suspected authenticity issues, incomplete information, or a seller's past negative record.

Cooperation with Law Enforcement In the event of inquiries or complaints from law enforcement agencies, AP has the right to immediately delist the relevant item, cooperate with investigations by providing your personal information, and freeze related funds until the matter is clarified.

Privacy Protection Except for inquiries from law enforcement agencies, we will keep your personal identity completely confidential and will not share it with buyers or any unrelated third parties. All personal data is handled strictly in accordance with Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
