Isle of Skye 25 Year Wins Best Blended Scotch at 2025 San Francisco Spirits Competition
The 'Isle of Skye 25 Year' whisky, from independent Scottish company Ian Macleod Distillers, has clinched two prestigious awards at the globally renowned San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2025, namely 'Best Blended Scotch Whisky (16 Years & Over)' and 'Best Overall Blended Scotch Whisky'. It has been crowned 'World's Best Blended Scotch Whisky 2025'. This competition is regarded as one of the most influential spirits contests worldwide, with its awards serving as a reliable benchmark of quality for consumers and the industry.
Pamela Stewart, Brand Manager for Ian Macleod Distillers, expressed that this recognition from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is a great honor for the company and a testament to the exceptional quality of Isle of Skye whisky. She revealed that in the blind tasting which attracted over 1,500 whisky entries, the judges described the whisky as 'a beautifully crafted Scotch'.
Isle of Skye whisky blends malt from the islands and Speyside, aiming to present a rich, full-bodied flavor that reflects the heritage of Scotland's rugged west coast. Master Blender John Glass, who leads the blending team, stated that Isle of Skye whisky holds a special place in his life, and he is deeply gratified to receive such a distinguished award. He emphasized that the company has dedicated decades to sourcing Scotland's finest whiskies and meticulously selecting oak casks suitable for each product.
Glass further elaborated that their blended products, ranging from 8 to 30 years, embody the team's expertise, dedication, and passion, and the 25-year-old's recognition as the world's best is the ultimate proof of these efforts. Ian Macleod Distillers plans to leverage these awards to further solidify its position in the Premium and Ultra-Premium whisky markets, especially among high-end and professional connoisseurs.
