GlenAllachie Sinteis III: French Oak & Oloroso Sherry

The Art of Maturation: Billy Walker Balances French Oak and Oloroso Sherry

The GlenAllachie Distillery has released the third expression in the Sinteis Series. This 11-year-old Speyside Single Malt was distilled in 2014 and bottled at a cask strength of 57.4%. It combines maturation in French Limousin Virgin Oak and Oloroso Sherry Casks, showcasing a dedication to wood craftsmanship and flavor balance.

"Sinteis," meaning "fusion," was personally crafted by Master Distiller Billy Walker to explore the extraordinary flavors resulting from the combination of virgin oak and sherry casks. The series' predecessor won the Best Speyside Single Malt at the 2026 World Whiskies Awards, cementing its central role in the distillery’s maturation program.

A Balance of French Oak and Oloroso Sherry

The French oak selected for this release is known for its wide-grain structure, having undergone medium toasting and 15 months of open-air seasoning. Billy Walker noted that French oak integrates perfectly with Oloroso, weaving together layers of honey, orange peel, dried fruits, and dark chocolate, accompanied by delicate spices. The liquid displays remarkable depth, with flavors evolving continuously with every sip.

This release maintains its natural color and is non-chill filtered. The packaging, designed by artist Kayley Barbour, features exquisite hand-drawn motifs paying homage to French virgin oak. This limited release has debuted at the distillery and will roll out to global markets in the coming weeks, continuing the Sinteis Series' legendary exploration of oak maturation.
