2025 World Whiskies Awards Crown GlenAllachie as Champion
The 2025 World Whiskies Awards and Icons of Whisky were held grandly in London last week, announcing multiple prestigious awards.
The spotlight was on the GlenAllachie distillery led by Billy Walker, with its 12-year-old single malt whisky (GlenAllachie 12 Year Old) awarded '2025 World's Best Single Malt Whisky,' showcasing the exceptional prowess of this small distillery. Edinburgh's emerging Holyrood Distillery won 'Distillery of the Year' as a dark horse.
Irish whisky also shone brightly: Midleton Distillery manager Jaime Jordan was named 'Distillery Manager of the Year'; Teeling Distillery swept both 'Best Marketing Team' and 'Best Visitor Attraction Team' in the Icons of Whisky awards.

This year's judging emphasized sustainability, with Scotland's Nc’nean Distillery and Arbikie Highland Estate both recognized as 'Sustainable Distillery.' Dublin's Teeling, the city's first new distillery in a century, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, setting an example with its innovative marketing and tourism teams.
