GlenAllachie 1990 35年水楢桶原酒巔峰上市

GlenAllachie 1990 35-Year-Old Mizunara Cask Strength Launch

The Pinnacle of Billy Walker's 50-Year Career: Blending Japanese Craft with Scottish Soul

The renowned Speyside distillery GlenAllachie has officially unveiled its limited masterpiece—the 1990 35-Year-Old Cask Strength. This rare single malt was personally crafted by industry legend Billy Walker, bottled at 50.2% ABV. It remains non-chill filtered with no added coloring, aiming to showcase the purest expression of high-age whisky.

The core of this 35-year-old release lies in its exceptionally complex cask management, utilizing rare Virgin Japanese Mizunara Oak, skillfully paired with American Virgin Oak, Oloroso, and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks. Billy Walker stated that this expression represents the culmination of his fifty years of cask selection expertise, displaying ultimate complexity and harmony.

Harmonious Flavors of Mizunara and Artisanal Packaging

Japanese Mizunara wood infuses the spirit with signature notes of coconut, pineapple, sandalwood, and incense. The palate reveals layers of mocha, cinnamon, cocoa, and baking spices, finishing with a blend of sandalwood, vanilla, and honeycomb sweetness. The packaging, designed by Kayley Barbour, features a wooden box inspired by Kumiko, a traditional Japanese craft that uses no nails. The bottle omits a label, using gold-leaf lettering to highlight the deep mahogany liquid.

From Acquisition to World's Best Awards

Since Billy Walker acquired GlenAllachie in 2017, the distillery has pursued excellence. Its 12-Year-Old was crowned World's Best Single Malt at the 2025 World Whiskies Awards. To enhance quality, the distillery extended fermentation to 160 hours, aiming to interpret Speyside's traditional charm through ultimate craftsmanship.
