Like many Rum distilleries, Foursquare was once a sugar refinery, rebuilt as a Rum distillery after 1996.

Many Rum producers eventually add sugar for adjustment, but Foursquare is one distillery that insists on not adding sugar.
Sassafras is a collaboration between Foursquare owner Richard Seale and Italian IB Velier owner Luca Gargano.
