Like many Rum distilleries, Foursquare was previously a sugar mill before being rebuilt as a Rum distillery in 1996.
While many Rum producers eventually add sugar for adjustment, Foursquare is one of the distilleries that insists on zero added sugar.
Sassafras is a collaboration between Foursquare owner Richard Seale and the Italian IB Velier owner Luca Gargano.
