Passopisciaro and Tenuta di Trinoro share the same owner, but it is located in southern Italy's Etna.
As the winery's flagship wine, it uses the less common Petit Verdot grape.
However, Franchetti consistently achieves excellent results each year.
This wine was commented by the JR team as 'Bloody expensive' and neighboring vintages on Vivino cost over a thousand dollars.

"100% Petit Verdot. Impenetrable purple ruby.
Really intense, complex black forest-fruit nose with a hint of vanilla.
Pretty oak and dense, fresh fruit palate. Fantastic tannins that coat the mouth. I
would drink this now! The alcohol you do not notice at all. Impressive balancing act. Bloody expensive! (WS)"
