Founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy, Hennessy is one of the world's largest and most historic Cognac houses. Headquartered in the Cognac region of Charente, France, the house is most renowned for its management of eaux-de-vie stocks spanning over two centuries. It possesses the world's largest stock of Cognac, with some rare spirits dating back to the 19th century.
In 1817, the British Prince Regent requested a 'Very Superior Old Pale' (VSOP), which officially defined the standard for Cognac classifications globally. Later in 1870, Maurice Hennessy created the first XO (Extra Old) for friends and family. Today, as a key member of the LVMH group, Hennessy remains a symbol of top-tier taste and French refinement, with its VSOP standing as an evergreen classic for banquets and gifting in Hong Kong.
