Collection: Cognac
Cognac is a treasure from the southwestern region of France. Apart from famous VSOP and XO Cognac, you can find many special Cognac Hong Kong here, e.g. Grosperrin, Daniel Bouju Cognac and Vallein Tercinier.
The process of making Cognac is complex and delicate, requiring precision and patience at every step. High-quality grapes are first selected and then fermented and distilled, before being aged for many years. This process gives Cognac its unique aroma and taste. Cognac is made from wine, with the main grape varieties used being Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Folle Blanche, etc. During the manufacturing process, the wine is first fermented and then distilled, finally being aged for a long period of time. The minimum aging period for Cognac is 2 years, whilst the maximum can be up to 50 years or even more.
Cognac has six regions: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, Bons Bois and Bois Ordinaires. Each region has its own characteristics, for example, Cognac from the Grande Champagne region tends to have a more elegant aroma and a lighter body, whilst Cognac from the Petite Champagne region tends to have a fruity aroma and a softer taste.
In addition to the region and the manufacturing process, the brand and the year are also important factors that affect the price of Cognac. On the Hong Kong market, Cognac from internationally renowned brands such as Hennessy, Remy Martin, Martell are priced higher. The longer the aging period, the higher the price will be relatively. For wine enthusiasts who want to taste Cognac, they can also choose to buy different fine Cognac brands such as Jean-Luc Pasquet, Vallein Tercinier, Prunier or Grosperrin and so on.
In the Hong Kong market, Cognac is also a high-end consumer product, typically consumed in bars and high-end restaurants. However, as people's interest in premium alcohol beverage increases, the sales of Cognac in Hong Kong are also gradually increasing.
