Cask Maturation and Limited 566-Bottle Release
This 22-year-old expression originates from a blend distilled in 2004. During maturation, the liquid was first aged in second-fill bourbon casks, followed by a final 3-year finish in historic vintage port pipes. Bottled at a cask strength of 53.0% ABV (106 proof), the release is strictly limited to 566 bottles worldwide. Each 700ml decanter is individually numbered, hand-signed by Richard Seale, presented in a handcrafted wooden box, and accompanied by a certificate of bottling, a 50ml miniature sample, and a tasting booklet.
Official Tasting Notes
According to official tasting notes, this deep mahogany rum presents aromas of marzipan, grapefruit peel, ripe plums, and guava on the nose. On the palate, layers of dried mint, pineapple, molasses, and baking spices unfold gracefully, finishing with enduring notes of dry tobacco leaf and aromatic cloves.
Collaboration Origins & Distillery Craftsmanship
Richard Seale is a founding member of The Last Drop Assembly. He shared that since joining the assembly, he had envisioned entrusting this 2004 blend to The Last Drop, demonstrating the distillery's patient aging philosophy through the passage of time and cask influence. Kizito Owusu-Sarfo, Brand Director of Global Prestige Spirits, noted that this collaboration embodies the true vision of The Last Drop Assembly, empowering premier creators to push boundaries across categories and curate liquid of remarkable provenance.
Located in St. Philip, Barbados, Foursquare holds an illustrious heritage in sugarcane, molasses, and rum production. Under fourth-generation distiller Richard Seale, the distillery unites traditional techniques with modern precision, including modifying classic double-retort pot stills for vacuum distillation. The rum is scheduled for release in October 2026 across Sazerac's global prestige distribution network.
