Tamdhu Launches The Dedication Collection with a 43-Year-Old Whiskey in the U.S. Market

Scotland's Tamdhu Distillery has recently launched its rarest whiskey series to date, The Dedication Collection, in the U.S. market. This series features the distillery's most aged and limited single malt whiskeys, all matured in Oloroso sherry casks.

The first release is a commemorative 43-year-old whiskey, with only 100 bottles available worldwide, making it one of Tamdhu's rarest offerings. Distillery manager Sandy McIntyre described this as a milestone moment for Tamdhu, emphasizing that this whiskey, fully matured in three carefully selected sherry oak casks, perfectly showcases the depth and complexity achieved through time.

Tamdhu 43 Year Old Dedication Collection was aged entirely in Oloroso sherry casks for over forty years, giving it a deep amber color and rich flavor. Made with the distillery's natural spring water and matured in the Speyside region, it is bottled at 50.8% alcohol by volume, without chill filtration to preserve its natural richness.

Tasting notes describe its aroma as rich sherry, molasses toffee, coriander seeds, berries, citrus, and spices. The palate reveals deep sherry, orange peel, blackcurrant, molasses, chocolate coconut, and coffee, with a long finish hinting at lemon and dried berries.

Each bottle of the 43-year-old whiskey is presented in a hand-blown Victorian-style crystal decanter, housed in a handcrafted octagonal wooden box adorned with brushed silver metal. Each bottle bears a unique number to highlight its exclusivity. To celebrate the launch, Tamdhu collaborated with microphotographer Peter Woitschikowski to create a series of stunning microphotographs by crystallizing the whiskey and magnifying it 43 times, symbolizing its aging period.

Collectors who purchase this rare whiskey will receive a personal invitation from Sandy McIntyre to visit the normally off-limits Tamdhu Distillery for an exclusive tour. In addition to tasting rare whiskeys, they will have the opportunity to explore traditional floor warehouses and glimpse barrels that may be included in future Dedication Collection releases.
