Renowned independent bottler Rare Find has announced its latest release, focusing on the mysterious "Teaspooned Malts" within the Scotch whisky industry. This unique type of whisky was originally created to protect a distillery's brand identity. By adding a tiny amount of a secondary malt whisky to the cask, the batch can no longer legally be called a "Single Malt," yet it retains the pure flavor profile and geographic characteristics of the original distillery.

For independent bottlers, this offers a unique opportunity to bring high-pedigree, highly collectible spirits to the market while maintaining a level of discretion and mystery regarding their origin. This new series consists of three carefully selected single-cask whiskies, each showcasing the classic charm of different regions.

Three Masterpieces from the Rare Find Teaspooned Series

The lineup includes the Rare Find Speyside 22 Year Old from a legendary Speyside distillery, finished in first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks in collaboration with Bodegas Barbadillo. The Rare Find Westport 18 Year Old hails from a famous Highland distillery known for its exceptionally tall stills, matured in Spanish Oak Sherry casks for deep flavor. Finally, the Rare Find Campbeltown 10 Year Old originates from a distillery north of Kinloch Park, matured in a Refill Hogshead to display the region's signature coastal salinity and complex layers.

True to the brand's philosophy, the entire collection is bottled at Natural Cask Strength, emphasizing natural color and no chill-filtration, ensuring a pure tasting experience. Commercial Director John Moffat noted that the series was launched early due to strong market demand. These Teaspooned Malts represent some of the whisky world's best-kept secrets, balancing discretion with unique character.
