A Tribute to Islay: Rare Find Crafts Octave Cask Finish Art Collection

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, independent bottler Rare Find has announced the launch of the Fèis Ìle 2026 Collection, featuring three 12-year-old Caol Ila single malt whiskies. Each expression has undergone a three-month finish in Octave casks previously seasoned with fortified wines. Bottled at Cask Strength, these whiskies are non-chill filtered and contain no artificial coloring. This limited-edition batch showcases the signature maritime smoke and citrus notes of the Islay distillery, serving as a dedicated tribute to the annual Islay Festival of Music and Malt.

The trio features different cask finishes: a Ruby Port Octave Finish (58.2% ABV) limited to 61 bottles, a Tawny Port Octave Finish (58.3%) with 63 bottles, and a Madeira Octave Finish (57.9%) with 66 bottles. In terms of flavor, the Ruby Port edition offers notes of BBQ sauce and redcurrants; the Tawny Port presents mince pies and medicinal peat; while the Madeira combines strawberries with salty almonds. Each bottle is designed to capture the irreplaceable magic of Islay.

First-Ever Full Art Label Design

This series marks the first time Rare Find has utilized a Full Art Label design. The visual aesthetic of each bottle is tailored to its specific cask type, connecting the tasting experience with artistic expression.
