Isle of Raasay: 2026 Visitor Attraction of the Year & Host

The Pinnacle of Island Whisky: Isle of Raasay to Host 2026 Festival Finale

Isle of Raasay Distillery has announced it will host the grand finale of the 5th Hebridean Whisky Festival in September 2026. The distillery was recently named "Visitor Attraction of the Year" at the World Whiskies Awards 2026, adding further prestige to the upcoming event. Taking place from September 5th to 12th, this highly anticipated festival celebrates the unique charm of Scotland's island distilleries. As the final stop of the celebration, the distillery will curate a series of in-depth experiences and exclusive events, leading guests to explore the artisanal soul of island whisky.

Eight Island Distilleries Unite for Festival Exclusive Bottlings

This year's festival brings together eight iconic island distilleries, including North Uist, Tobermory, Benbecula, Torabhaig, Isle of Harris, Isle of Tiree, Talisker, and the host, Isle of Raasay. To commemorate the 2026 gathering, a special festival bottling, The Hebridean Whisky Cask 2026, has been released. Renowned for its signature light peated style, Isle of Raasay will offer all-day tours and tastings on the closing day, along with a panel discussion featuring representatives from all eight distilleries to discuss the future vision and heritage of Hebridean whisky.

Elite Masterclasses and Island Cultural Experiences

For enthusiasts, the distillery has designed several masterclasses hosted by its core team. Co-founder and Master Distiller Alasdair Day and Operations Manager Ross Gilles will co-host the "Dunnage Warehouse Masterclass," revealing the secrets of cask management and aging. Additionally, distiller Jane Crosbie and Lead Guide Ellen Mackay will lead blending sessions and sample analysis. The event also integrates island gastronomy and culture, with signature dishes designed by Isle of Skye chef Clare Coghill. Visitors can stay overnight at the distillery's rooms or the luxury Na Bothain pods. Supported by VisitScotland, this event is accessible via ferry from Sconser, offering a deep immersion into Scottish craftsmanship and culture.
