Ten Years of Craft: Isle of Harris Whisky Signature Expression Unveiled for International Growth

Located in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, the Isle of Harris Distillery has announced the launch of its new core range single malt whisky, named Isle of Harris Whisky. This release marks a significant milestone for the distillery, which has accumulated a decade of distilling and maturation experience since its founding in 2015. The arrival of this flagship product not only completes the whisky lineup but signifies that inventory levels are now sufficient to support steady supply for the global market.

Bourbon and Sherry Cask Maturation: Delicate Layers and Terroir

In terms of flavor profile, this whisky features a light peaty style, matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. Blender Shona Macleod stated that the goal was to create a spirit that is both unique and accessible while retaining a strong sense of place. The liquid reveals notes of butterscotch, floral aromas, and soft spices, with light peat adding depth without overpowering the original character of the spirit.

Brand Integration Strategy: Leveraging Isle of Harris Gin for Recognition

This launch aligns with a brand consolidation strategy where Isle of Harris Whisky will join the previous The Hearach and The Oloroso under a unified brand architecture. Executive Chairman Ron MacEachran noted that this strategy aims to leverage the international fame established by Isle of Harris Gin to further strengthen brand identity. Moving forward, The Hearach and The Oloroso will carry the Isle of Harris Single Malt Scotch Whisky insignia.

The distillery plans to officially roll out the product to international markets this summer, covering key regions including the UK, USA, Germany, and France. The addition of this new member builds a more complete portfolio for the brand, showcasing the growth over the past decade and laying a solid foundation for long-term international expansion.
