Sip Seekers Revolutionizes Booking Scottish Distillery Tours

A new internet search engine, Sip Seekers, specializing in helping beer and whisky enthusiasts find Scotland's top distilleries and breweries, officially launched this week. The platform aims to streamline the connection process between production facilities and customers, making it easier for visitors to access drinks information and simplify the booking procedure for tours.

According to the Scottish Daily Express, over 50 partner breweries and distilleries have already joined Sip Seekers. The search engine was founded by Edinburgh entrepreneur Victoria Miller. She hopes to completely revolutionize the booking process for distillery and brewery tours by allowing visitors to search based on availability, geographical location, and drink category.

Miller points out that the drinks industry often faces a 'problem' of 'making it easy for our guests to find and book tours.' She emphasizes that Scotland possesses world-class distilleries and alcohol producers offering fantastic customer experiences, but finding and booking can be challenging. It should not require visitors to open multiple websites or make numerous phone calls, or the industry risks missing out on many booking opportunities.

Miller, who has 14 years of experience in the whisky industry, collaborated with a colleague in the tech sector to solve the challenge of connecting drinks businesses with customers. Sip Seekers has been hailed as the 'Skyscanner' style search platform for drinks locations. It will also provide users with tracking insights to help them expand their market understanding. Miller stated that the industry response to the project has been 'incredibly positive,' with most agreeing it is a much-needed opportunity in the sector, although some more conservative voices are taking a wait-and-see approach. Over 50 venues have already joined, with more partners signing up weekly. They recognize Sip Seekers' potential to amplify their brand story and reach new audiences.

George McNeil, former chairman of The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, believes the initiative 'comes at a great time for drinks tourism in Scotland.' He explains that by making the visitor decision-making process smoother and more intuitive, the platform opens doors for distilleries to reach new audiences and highlights the rich stories within the industry.

Miller concludes that Sip Seekers is dedicated to making the exploration of wonderful distilleries, whether innovative or historical, effortless. Travelers can compare options and book the facility that suits them best with just a few clicks. She hopes this simplicity will appeal to whisky, gin, and beer enthusiasts both locally and internationally.
