Bacardi-owned brand Dewar’s has announced the launch of limited-edition packaging specifically designed for the 2026 Lunar New Year, marking the brand's 180th anniversary. This limited design is applied to the brand's highly acclaimed Double Double series, including 20, 26, and 30-year-old expressions of Scotch whisky, scheduled for exclusive release in global travel retail channels from December 2025.

Design Inspiration: Determination and Passion for the Year of the Horse

The inspiration for this limited edition is drawn from the determination and passion symbolized by the zodiac sign Horse. The packaging uses the traditional New Year palette of red and gold, paired with a dynamic and vibrant crimson horse motif, creating a strong visual impact that perfectly echoes the festive atmosphere.

Darragh Ryan, Marketing Director at Bacardi Global Travel Retail, noted that celebrating this 180th-anniversary milestone through a global Lunar New Year campaign, particularly targeting core Asian markets, is highly significant. He emphasized that Dewar’s, as the World’s Most Awarded Blended Scotch Whisky, possesses exceptional craftsmanship that makes it an ideal choice for reunions and toasts to the future during the festive season.

Targeting Asia Travel Retail and Gifting Opportunities

The brand is precisely targeting gifting opportunities during the festival, with plans for large-scale promotions at key Asian hubs including Kuala Lumpur, Singapore Changi, and Taiwan Taoyuan. Dewar’s also referenced China Tourism Academy data showing a vibrant outbound tourism market in 2025, indicating strong growth potential for travel retail.

Currently, this limited edition is planned for rollout at over 25 travel retail locations, including London Heathrow, Dubai Duty Free, Istanbul, Heinemann Frankfurt, and Sydney, with wide distribution through prominent Asia-Pacific retailers like CDFG, Shilla, Lotte, and Everrich, allowing travelers worldwide to collect this anniversary commemorative spirit.
