A Tribute to Rebellion and Innovation: The Legend of the Yellow Submarine
The inspiration for this series stems from a legendary tale. In the early 2000s, US military intelligence mistakenly flagged Bruichladdich as a potential site for weapons of mass destruction. Later, in 2005, a yellow Ministry of Defence submarine was discovered off the Islay coast. A full-scale replica of that submarine still stands at the distillery today. The series first launched in 2005, followed by a second edition in 2018, and this latest version is a tribute to that history of rebellious humor and innovative spirit.

Craft Details: The Harmony of Wine and Bourbon Casks
Yellow Submarine III is an unpeated style, distilled from 100% Scottish-grown Appaloosa barley. The liquid was aged on Islay for 14 years, utilizing a recipe of 25% first-fill Bourbon casks and 75% French red wine casks. Bottled at 54.2% ABV, it remains non-chill filtered and with no added color. Master Blender Adam Hannett describes its palate as a blend of honeyed oats, shortbread, and orange zest, perfectly continuing the playful character of the series.
