Brave New Spirits Wins Top Independent Bottler Award 2026
Glasgow-based independent whisky bottler, Brave New Spirits, won multiple awards at the 2026 World Whiskies Awards held in Edinburgh on December 5th. The most notable achievement was claiming the title of Independent Bottler of the Year. The company was also recognized for the outstanding performance of its international sales team, and two of its independent whiskies won 'Best in Category' awards following blind tasting. These were the Cask Masters North British 13-year-old for 'Best Single Cask Single Grain,' and The Untamed Grace from the WhiskyHeroes range for 'Best Highland Single Cask Single Malt.'
During the Icons of Whisky awards ceremony held at the Signet Library in Edinburgh's historic Old Town, Brave New Spirits also received two Icons of Whisky – Scotland awards, recognizing the company's overall operational performance and the achievements of its international sales division. A spokesperson for Brave New Spirits stated that these awards are highly significant for the young, relatively small company, confirming the efforts of its team and global distribution partners by placing them alongside highly respected peers in a highly competitive industry.
The World Whiskies Awards are hosted annually by Whisky Magazine and include regional competitions for Scotland, Ireland, Japan, the USA, and Asia. Regional winners advance to the global final, with results scheduled to be announced before Whisky Live London in March 2026.
Brave New Spirits was founded in 2020 and maintains its own bonded warehouse and bottling facilities in Glasgow, alongside a second warehouse in Campbeltown. Its brands include Cask Masters, WhiskyHeroes, and Whisky of Voodoo. The company currently exports to over 30 countries and plans its first shipments to the US and Spain in early 2026. Brave New Spirits is also developing the Witchburn Distillery project in Campbeltown, hailed as Scotland's largest independent distillery project in over 20 years. It is set to be the UK's first distillery utilizing an electric steam boiler system, with whisky production anticipated to start in 2026.
