Official TN in 1997 and 2007:

Nose on Release: A sophisticated array of rich berry fruit and cedar oak matured tones. Some plum and prunes, hints of dusty mulberry fruit and aromas of light roasted coffee bean and spiced cedar notes from extended oak maturation.

Palate on Release: A concentrated, richly layered palate structure of ripe fruit and oak maturation flavours. Plum and prune, hints of liquorice, and dusty fruit flavours have seamlessly combined with French oak sweet vanilla, cedar and mocha characters during the long oak maturation period. A firm slightly chalky tannin structure extends the lingering finish.

Nose in 2007: As above but with some additional light tobacco leaf maturation.

Palate in 2007: Bottle maturation has softened the palate and added a suppleness. Close to its best with years to go. An excellent wine from a difficult vintage.
