----------------------------------------
Heathcote is not as common among Australian reds as Barossa.
Wild Duck Creek Estate itself was not particularly outstanding,
until Robert Parker awarded their 1997 Duck Muck 99 points, drawing more attention.
This Shiraz Reserve's production method is detailed on the official website.
It utilizes 50% whole bunch fermentation (grapes fermented with stems intact), and is matured for 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels, creating this very powerful Shiraz.

The nose delivers wood smoke, meat, game, pencil lead, black cherry, blueberry, and licorice notes.
Voluptuous and mouth-coating, it conceals enough structure for another 6-8 years of development in the cellar.
This lengthy, impressive effort will offer peak drinking from 2014 to 2030.
