---------------------
While Franschhoek in South Africa might not be as renowned as regions like Stellenbosch or Paarl, it is located east of Stellenbosch and south of Paarl, in a coastal area. Franschhoek also produces many outstanding wines.
South African Bordeaux Blends and Sparkling wines have been impressive in recent years. The climate, land, and techniques are in no way inferior to the traditional Old World. The Normandie Eisen & Viljoen, besides its exquisite wax bottle design, has also received high scores of 4.5 from many Vivino users, surpassing many first-growth Bordeaux wines.

Online Tasting Notes
Colour:
Intense red velvet with deep ruby highlights.
Aroma:
A mix of red currant, raspberry, vanilla and pencil shavings at first. Rich complex aromas which intensify over time with balanced notes of oak and dark fruits.
Palate:
Concentrated, rich, young tannins on the mid palate with an abundance of ripe fruit, berries and nuances of tobacco speaks of a very serious wine right from the first taste.
Violets, mixed ripe fruits and sophisticated notes of tobacco integrates perfectly with flavours of oak and spice as the wine continues to reward with time in the glass.
A young, muscular, complex wine which will continue to reward beyond expectation with proper cellaring over the next decades.
