Hibiki was launched in 1989 to celebrate Suntory's 90th anniversary. The name signifies 'resonance' between people, nature, and the soul. Master's Select, a special member of the range, was originally created to commemorate Suntory's international achievements. This 2016 release features malts and grains of varying ages, including rare spirits aged in expensive Mizunara (Japanese Oak) casks. Mizunara grows slowly and is scarce, imparting notes of Japanese incense (Kyara) and agarwood, a key secret to the success of Japanese whisky.
The 24 facets of the Hibiki bottle represent the 24 solar terms of the traditional Japanese calendar and the passage of time. The label is made of handcrafted Echizen Washi paper. Master's Select 2016 is more than a bottle of whisky; it is a piece of liquid art, blending the richness of Yamazaki, the freshness of Hakushu, and the purity of Chita for an unparalleled harmonious experience.
