Product Details
Hibiki 12 Years Old showcases the pinnacle of balance. It incorporates high-quality malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, masterfully blended with grain whisky from the Chita distillery. Most notably, a portion of the malt is matured in casks that previously held plum liqueur (Umeshu), granting Hibiki 12 its characteristic sweet richness and lush aroma. Combined with rare Mizunara oak-aged spirits, it achieves a truly unique Oriental elegance.

'Hibiki' means 'harmony' in Japanese, symbolizing the perfect fusion of nature, people, and a variety of spirits. First launched in 2009, Hibiki 12 Years Old was designed to showcase the delicate beauty of Japanese whisky to the world. Its iconic 24-facet bottle represents the 24 solar terms of the traditional Japanese calendar, signifying the passage of time during maturation.
The most unique aspect of Hibiki 12 is Suntory's pioneering use of Plum Liqueur Casks for finishing. As plums are a spiritual symbol in Japanese culture, this maturation adds fruit complexity and a silky texture. Due to the shortage of aged Japanese whisky stocks, Hibiki 12 was discontinued in 2015 and replaced by Hibiki Japanese Harmony. Consequently, existing bottles of Hibiki 12 are increasingly rare, serving as both a superb dram and a high-potential investment piece.
