Established in 1973, the Hakushu Distillery is located at the foot of Mount Kaikomagatake in Yamanashi Prefecture, surrounded by vast forests. The altitude and pure soft water provide a unique environment for fermentation and maturation. Compared to Yamazaki, Hakushu is renowned for its 'fresh, herbal, and lightly peated' character.

During the production of Hakushu 18 Years Old, selected peated malts are used and matured quietly in forest-surrounded warehouses. These 18 years transform the sharp smoke into a silky, multi-layered aroma. Every drop encapsulates the four seasons of the Japanese forest. Due to the continued shortage of Japanese aged whisky, this 18-year-old expression has become a highly sought-after collector's item worldwide.
