Bodegas Contador was established by the legendary Spanish winemaker, Benjamin Romeo. This genius and perfectionist is involved in every step of the winemaking process, even personally driving to select the oak for the corks.
Its flagship wine, Contador, received a high score of 98 from Robert Parker in 2000, and the 2004 and 2005 vintages consecutively achieved a perfect 100 points.
This La Vina de Andres Romeo is named after his father and is made from Single Vineyard grapes, unlike other Bodegas Contador wines which are blended from different vineyards.
The vineyard is only 3 Hectares, and all harvesting and grape selection are done manually, without machinery.
Consequently, this La Vina de Andres Romeo embodies the local terroir more profoundly.
