----------------------------------------------------------------
Bodegas Contador is a project by the legendary Spanish winemaker Benjamin Romeo. This genius is also a perfectionist, involved in every step of winemaking, even personally selecting the cork trees for the stoppers.
The flagship wine Contador received a high score of 98 points from Robert Parker in 2000, and achieved a consecutive 100 points for the 2004 and 2005 vintages.
This Carmen is not part of Bodegas Contador's core range; it is named after his mother and made using a more contemporary approach.
A very complex wine, full of barrel notes like chocolate, vanilla, and coffee, along with notes of aged leather from maturation. It simultaneously retains rich fruitiness and acidity to support the entire wine.
Wine Spectator vintage charts describe Rioja 2007 as a "Cool growing season; many light wines".
However, this wine is absolutely not light, so you can try it with confidence.
Nevertheless, it is a weaker vintage. It is recommended to drink it after purchase and not to age it for too long.
