Unveiling Single Cask Rarity: Deep Dive into WWA 2026 Scotland Winners

The results for the Scotland region of the World Whiskies Awards 2026 have been officially revealed. In the highly anticipated Single Cask Single Malt Scotch category, competition was exceptionally fierce. This category is renowned for highlighting the uniqueness of whisky and the rarity of one-off releases. This year's winners further demonstrate the profound expertise of Independent Bottlers, specialist retailers, and Distilleries in cask selection and maturation craftsmanship.

21 Years & Over: The Pinnacle of Aged Expressions

In various age brackets, The Whisky Firm, Malts of Scotland, Stalla Dhu, and Annandale delivered the most striking performances. In the 21 Years & Over group, The Whisky Firm’s Ben Nevis 48.9% and Burnside both secured Gold, Country & Category Winner status. Also receiving this honor was Malts of Scotland’s Bowmore 1999 MoS25028, released specifically for the Taiwan market, showcasing the extraordinary charm of aged Single Cask Scotch. Additionally, Malts of Scotland’s Tormore 1992 Rare Casks took home Gold, Category Winner.

13-20 Years and 12 Years & Under: Established Strength and Exceptional Newcomers

In the 13 to 20 Years category, Stalla Dhu Strathmill 14 Years Old Single Cask performed brilliantly, winning Gold and Country & Category Winner. Furthermore, Tri Carragh Lochindaal 16 Years Old and the DS Tayman Summer Edition also earned Gold, Category Winner.
