The global collector base continues to expand, with bidders hailing from a record 63 countries. The geographical distribution of buyers remains balanced across EMEA, the Americas, and Asia, showcasing robust cross-regional demand. Regionally, Europe remains the strongest market, driven by results in France and the UK, while New York continues to lead over Hong Kong. Furthermore, Sotheby’s is actively expanding its footprint with dedicated teams in Japan and Switzerland to strengthen its global presence.

Peak Value for Aged Whiskies: Spirits Lead for Sixth Consecutive Year
The spirits category remains strong, with Sotheby’s selling the majority of the top ten highest-priced spirits globally this year. Spirits have now held the top spot for the most valuable auction lots for six consecutive years. Highlights include The Glenlivet SPIRA 60 Year Old sold in Edinburgh, the historic The Glen Grant Eternal 77 Year Old, the rare Port Ellen Prism 46 Year Old, and limited editions like Ladyburn One of One, demonstrating the immense value of aged whiskies.
The auction house also remains committed to philanthropy, partnering with The Distillers One of One® for a third biennial charity auction, featuring rare whiskies from across Scotland with all proceeds benefiting the Youth Action Fund.
