Aston Martin and Bowmore unveil ARC-54 Iridos Edition at Sotheby's

Aston Martin and Bowmore recently announced the launch of the unique ARC-54 Iridos Edition at the Raffles Hotel in London. This 54-year-old single malt whisky will be auctioned online via Sotheby's from May 15 to 29, 2025. The special edition whisky continues the collaboration tradition between the two brands, with its custom decanter design inspired by the Aston Martin Valkyrie supercar. The most notable feature is the iridescent titanium cap, crafted using the same technique as the Valkyrie's exhaust system, showcasing a unique blue sheen through extreme temperature treatment.

Marek Reichman, Aston Martin's Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, emphasized that this collaboration reflects the innovative mindset of combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Bowmore's Master Blender Calum Fraser carefully selected rare 1960s casks for blending, including a 1967 European oak cask, a 1968 sherry cask, and an American oak cask, showcasing the distillery's ultimate brewing artistry.

Industry expert Mark Littler noted that such top-tier collaborations, like high-end watches, transcend their primary function, adding artistic value to whisky. In recent years, Bowmore and Aston Martin's limited-edition collaborations have repeatedly set auction records. Jonny Fowle, Sotheby's Global Head of Whisky, stated that Bowmore continues to achieve remarkable single-bottle auction results due to its age, rarity, and design aesthetics. Proceeds from this auction will support the Suntory Global Spirits' Scottish distillery community development, following the successful model of the previous ARC-52 Mokume Edition.
