Loch Lomond Debuts The Original Series: 3 Innovative Single Malts

Breaking Tradition: The Ultimate Expression of Loch Lomond's Straight Neck Stills and Innovative Cask Finishing

Located in the Scottish Highlands, the Loch Lomond distillery has announced the launch of the all-new The Original Series, showcasing its exceptional strength in flavor innovation. This series aims to celebrate the distillery's unique whisky-making process by combining its signature straight neck stills with traditional swan neck stills, alongside diverse wood maturation techniques to create highly recognizable profiles. This collection was personally crafted by Master Blender Michael Henry, with each bottle bearing his signature as a symbol of the distillery's personal commitment to quality.

A Fusion of Flexibility and Craftsmanship

Michael Henry emphasizes that while Loch Lomond respects tradition, it is not bound by convention, striving to explore flavors freely. He notes that the distillery is one of Scotland's most flexible and adaptable. Beyond its versatile stills, the distillery operates its own on-site cooperage, maintaining casks to exacting standards through repair and charring, ensuring every oak vessel perfectly meets the maturation needs of the Single Malt. This launch demonstrates the distillery's continued growth in non-age statement products, bringing masterful distillation and maturation expertise to the market.

Three Innovative Expressions Leading the Series

The series includes one classic and two debut releases. The flagship Loch Lomond The Original Triple Oak is matured in three types of American oak casks, delivering the distillery's signature fruitiness and gentle smoke. The new Loch Lomond Oloroso Sherry Cask, distilled in straight-neck stills and finished for six months in Oloroso Sherry Casks, offers a blend of vanilla, raisins, and brown sugar. Finally, the Loch Lomond Peated Rioja Cask is matured in Rioja wine casks, revealing rich layers of honey, peach, and dark chocolate, highlighting the distillery's innovative maturation capabilities.

The entire range is bottled at 40% ABV with an upgraded packaging design. The labels feature illustrations of the distillery's namesake loch, with cobalt blue, burgundy, and magenta color palettes creating an elegant and modern visual. The distillery states that this series is not just an expansion but a way to provide global whisky enthusiasts with more layered and diverse tasting choices while preserving its core flavor style through innovative finishing and unique still combinations.
