Loch Lomond Group acquires The New York Distilling Company to expand American whiskey portfolio

Loch Lomond Group (LLG) announced the acquisition of Brooklyn-based The New York Distilling Company (NYDC), aiming to further invest in distillation technology, production capacity, and visitor experiences while expanding its award-winning brands in the US and globally. The deal diversifies LLG’s portfolio with the addition of American whiskey.

NYDC’s brands include Jaywalk Rye Whiskey, crafted using 17th-century Horton Heirloom Rye to revive a 150-year-old traditional flavor. Other brands under NYDC include Mister Katz Rock & Rye, Dorothy Parker Gin, and Perry Tot’s Navy strength gin, all reflecting Brooklyn’s creative spirit and bold attitude.

LLG founder and CEO Colin Matthews called the acquisition a key milestone, stating that LLG’s distribution network will help NYDC reach global markets. NYDC founders Allen Katz and Tom Potter expressed excitement about collaborating with LLG to introduce their brands to more whiskey enthusiasts.

LLG has been active recently, also announcing plans to open a new distillery and visitor center in Scotland by 2025. Its award-winning brands, such as Loch Lomond Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Glen Scotia, and Littlemill, are sold in over 125 countries. This acquisition strengthens LLG’s position in the premium spirits market.
