Heaven Hill Distillery, America’s largest family-owned and operated distillery, has officially declared 2026 as the Year of Wheat, introducing three limited-edition wheated bourbons in the Grain to Glass series. The early launch of Bernheim Original Wheat Whiskey established the distillery as a pioneer in the modern wheat whiskey category.

The 2026 Series: Diverse Editions and Local Farming

The 2026 series includes the third edition of Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon, a French Oak Finished version, and a 9-Year Extra Aged high-age statement release. Master Distiller Conor O’Driscoll personally selected the seeds, which were grown at Peterson Farms in Kentucky. Associate Blender Molly Vincent noted that focusing on the wheat mashbill aims to showcase the nuance and complexity of the grain as it evolves through aging, delivering a more expressive sensory experience.

Supporting Agriculture and Brand Transparency

The distillery also supports the Farm Rescue organization through its Family Farms First initiative, assisting farmers in crisis. Each bottle features a custom embossed glass bottle marked Family Owned Since 1935, demonstrating a commitment to agricultural roots and distillation transparency. These new releases, available in limited quantities across the U.S., not only pay tribute to farming traditions but also reflect the distillery’s long-term commitment to advancing American whiskey.
