The Art of Crossover: Life Chapters of a Football Legend and a Century-Old Bottler

Elgin-based whisky specialist Gordon & MacPhail has unveiled its new and ultra-rare "Vintage Moments" Single Malt series, with the inaugural release featuring Scottish football legend Sir Kenny Dalglish. Each set in this series contains five 70cl bottles, with distillation years selected to commemorate major milestones in the collaborator's life. All spirits are drawn directly from the cask and bottled at Cask Strength, ensuring every drop is a unique piece of liquid art.

The Legendary Memories of Sir Kenny Dalglish

Born in 1951, Sir Kenny Dalglish is one of the greatest forwards in British football history, once voted IOC European Footballer of the Season. He achieved immense success playing for and managing Liverpool, and led Blackburn Rovers to a Premier League title. He admitted that choosing just five key years from his life was no easy task, but the selection process allowed him to share the stories and memories behind them through the medium of whisky.

A Century-Old Legacy of Bespoke Heritage

With over 130 years of history across four generations, Gordon & MacPhail holds stocks from over 100 Scottish distilleries, including complete vintages dating back to 1948. Director Stephen Rankin noted that the rich legacy left by George Urquhart enables the brand to offer exclusive bespoke services to private clients. The brand plans to open a limited number of spots annually for collectors to select personally significant years and create their own "Vintage Moments" series.
