Dalry Milk 16-Year-Old Whisky – A Chocolate and Whisky Encounter
The latest whisky has arrived! Dalry Milk 16-Year-Old Whisky, a 16-year-old single grain Scotch whisky from North British Distillery, distills childhood memories of chocolate bars and ages them in barrels for an unparalleled flavor experience. This whisky is matured in two types of sherry casks, with a 2-1 ratio of oloroso to palo cortado, offering a smooth and sweet taste with notes of sweet spices, creamy toffee, and a hint of nostalgic corner-store charm, along with plenty of chocolate flavors.
The inspiration for this whisky comes from the Gorgie & Dalry area in western Edinburgh, once home to North British Distillery (and the old Caledonian Brewery), where the air was filled with the scent of malt and yeast. Despite its industrial exterior, real whisky magic happened inside, much like the chocolate factory in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In 2009, local authorities demanded the construction of odor control towers to reduce the distillery's aromas, a decision still regarded as one of Edinburgh's cultural losses.
Dalry Milk is a tribute to the love and nostalgia for this region. Sam Simmons, Whisky Director at Master of Malt, transformed this sentiment into a whisky that evokes those nostalgic scents, particularly the rich chocolate flavors. With Easter approaching, this whisky is undoubtedly a celebratory choice.
