The Worthy Park spirit first matured for 9 years in a bourbon barrel in a tropical climate,
before being shipped to Germany (where The Rum Cask IB is based) for a 2-year finish in ex-Laphroaig barrels.

Many will wonder if this finish imparts any Laphroaig character or if it's just a gimmick.
Tasting notes from Barrel Aged Thoughts confirm the presence of peat and smoke on the nose and palate, along with salt. The 2-year finish has had an effect, resulting in a Peaty Rum.
