Product Details
Taketsuru 25 Years Old Pure Malt has repeatedly won 'World's Best Blended Malt Whisky' at the World Whiskies Awards (WWA). This expression selects top-tier malts aged over 25 years from Nikka's Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. It perfectly balances Yoichi's powerful smoke with Miyagikyo's elegant floral and fruity notes, embodying the ultimate pursuit of Japanese whisky craftsmanship. Due to the scarcity of high-age stocks, this has become a rare treasure for collectors.

The Taketsuru range was created to honor the 'Father of Japanese Whisky,' Masataka Taketsuru. In the early 20th century, he traveled to Scotland to learn whisky-making techniques and brought that passion and craft back to Japan, helping establish the Yamazaki Distillery before founding Nikka and its Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries.
Taketsuru was a staunch believer in the art of blending. He believed that while single malts are wonderful, master blending could harmonize different malt characteristics into a more complex work. 'Pure Malt' refers to using only 100% malt whiskies without grain whisky, requiring exceptionally high-quality spirit.
As the range's flagship, the 25 Year Old symbolizes time and mastery. Every drop has breathed through oak for over a quarter century in the environments of Hokkaido and Sendai. It is more than a whisky; it is a historical witness to heritage and dreams. For connoisseurs, it represents the highest standard of the golden era of Japanese whisky.
