Ben Nevis has been gaining recognition recently, and the market is seeing more younger BN expressions, even those in the single-digit age range. This bottling, curated by Kirsch Import, is one such example.
Although it only features an Oloroso Sherry Butt finish, the whisky remains quite dark under its Natural colour, making it perfect for lovers of dark whiskies.
Online tasting note for reference:
Nose:
Dark sherry flavors with blueberries, raspberries and chocolate. In addition, spicy oak and a hint of leather.
Palate:
Again various red fruits on the palate, but a bit drier. Raisins, sultanas and cherries can be felt directly.
Then some cinnamon, a hint of mocha and white pepper.
Finish:
The whiskey stays for a medium length with Black Forest cake, various herbs and a hint of unburned tobacco.
