Smögen is a distillery located in Sweden, founded in 2009 by lawyer and whisky enthusiast Pär Caldenby.
Smögen is also a place name in Sweden.
While not producing many bottlings, several of their releases in 2019 & 2020 achieved excellent results at WF,
leading to increased public attention for this young distillery.
Independent bottlings of Smögen are also not very common.

Online Tasting note for reference-

Nose-
Dark berries such as blackberries on a tangy, fruity background, with rhubarb, caramelized cane sugar and whole milk chocolate with nuts as well as a fine spice reminiscent of coniferous forests.

Palate-
Full-bodied and dark, spicy, but at the same time gentle and mild with dark chocolate, overripe blackberries and block malt. Then light peat smoke, maritime echoes and spicy pine needles.

Finish-
Dark, fruity and creamy with subtle peat smoke, dark chocolate and finely finished spiciness.
