This Smögen release represents a relatively high age statement for the distillery.
While many Smögen expressions focus on Sherry influence, this particular bottling is predominantly Bourbon-matured.

Smögen is a distillery located in Sweden, founded in 2009 by Pär Caldenby, a lawyer and whisky enthusiast.
Smögen is also the name of a place in Sweden.
The distillery does not produce a large volume of spirits, but several releases in 2019 & 2020 achieved excellent scores from WhiskyFun (WF), leading the public to pay more attention to this young distillery.

Tasting note from Master of Malt for reference:

Nose:
Vanilla pod earthiness bolstered by foresty, grassy peat. A touch of chocolate hiding away in there.

Grilled orchard fruit and vanilla sponge, before waves savoury peat and coastal air come along.

Finish:
The smoky notes remain for minutes afterwards, with hints of dried oak.
