Smögen is a Swedish distillery founded in 2009 by a lawyer and whisky enthusiast, Pär Caldenby. Smögen is also the name of a picturesque locality in Sweden. While their releases are limited, their 2019 and 2020 bottlings achieved excellent ratings on WhiskyFun, drawing significant attention to this young distillery.

Online tasting note for reference:

Strong peat smoke, date syrup, dried figs, cinnamon, prunes, note of sweet nutty, slightly earthy note and fine tobacco.

Palate:
Sweet and spicy. Barbecue sauce, subtle rum raisins nestle with butterscotch, heavy peat smoke, extinguished campfire, cigar tobacco.

Finish:
Long and smoky with maritime notes, sweet raisins and salty liquorice.
