Product Details

Inspired by the highly sought-after 16-year-old Flora and Fauna series, this Mortlach 16 Years Old (Distiller's Dram) inherits the powerful, 'meaty' character Mortlach is famous for. Matured in 100% sherry casks, it adds rich layers of spice and fruitiness. For sherry cask lovers seeking weight and complexity, this is a quintessential Speyside whisky.

Read More About the Brand

Founded in 1823, Mortlach was the first legal distillery in Dufftown, Speyside. It is renowned for its incredibly complex '2.81 distillation process' invented by Dr. Alexander Cowie in 1896. This precise system involves six differently shaped stills, creating a spirit that is bolder and more 'meaty' than typical Speyside whiskies, earning it the nickname 'The Beast of Dufftown.'

For a long time, Mortlach's spirit was primarily used as a base for premium blends like Johnnie Walker Blue Label, making its single malt releases rare. With the recent core range relaunch, this 16-year-old expression marks a triumphant return. Matured in European oak sherry casks, it offers deep color and intense dried fruit and spice characters, perfectly embodying the union of power and elegance.
