Many ultra-aged cognacs are transferred into large glass carafes after decades of maturation to 'freeze' the aging process.
This Mauxion release, bottled for the Hong Kong-based Abyss Whisky Bar, was distilled in 1928. It remained in oak casks until 2025, when the founder of Abyss personally visited the Mauxion cellars in France to hand-select it from over a hundred casks.
Nearly a century of continuous maturation in wood has resulted in an exceptionally rare, ultra-aged Lot 28 Cognac.
