Product Details
Laphroaig Quarter Cask draws inspiration from 19th-century traditional maturation techniques. Smaller oak casks were often used back then for easier transportation by packhorses. This whisky is first aged in standard ex-Bourbon barrels before being transferred to 'Quarter Casks,' which hold only about 50 liters, for a secondary maturation. Because the spirit-to-wood contact area is increased by approximately 30%, this non-age statement release achieves surprising complexity, oily mouthfeel, and depth, offering pronounced vanilla sweetness and oak spice.

Laphroaig Distillery, located on the south coast of Islay, Scotland, has been famous since its founding in 1815 for its distinct 'medicinal' notes, sea salt tang, and intense peaty character. It is one of the few distilleries that still maintains its own floor maltings, using Islay's unique water and peat. Laphroaig's style is extreme; some even describe it as the ultimate expression of 'love it or hate it.'
The creation of the Quarter Cask series is a tribute to this history. Bottled at a high strength of 48% ABV and non-chill filtered, it fully preserves the esters and flavor compounds in the spirit. It won a Gold Medal at the 2018 Asian Spirits Masters and was awarded 'Liquid Gold' by Jim Murray's Whisky Bible. For drinkers who appreciate a strong, pure Islay style, this is an unmissable classic collectible.
