Aged in a tropical climate for 11 years, this release includes some of Hampden's oldest stocks. According to the official distillery statement on the label, 11 years of tropical aging is equivalent in angel's share and maturation intensity to 44 years of aging in Europe.

LROK stands for Light Rum Owen Kelly. The "Owen Kelly" is derived from the third owner of Hampden: Dermot Owen Kelly-Lawson. This expression has a relatively lower ester content of 334.7 gr/hlpa, offering a more balanced, less intense "funky" profile. Online tasting note for reference:

Nose:
Estery and somewhat funky gingerbread man. Banana on fire. Vanilla on fire. Freshly turned black soil.

Taste:
Big, massive, huge! Yet so delicate, soft, fluffy and caramely yummy. Sweetness, and more sweetness. Yet not sickeningly so, this is juuust right.

Finish:
Long finish. Still sweet. More banana and other assorted tropical fruits. Caramel. Light and mildly funky.
