The legend of Glenfiddich began in 1887 when founder William Grant and his nine children built their distillery stone by stone in Dufftown, Scotland. Glenfiddich means 'Valley of the Deer' in Gaelic, which inspired the iconic stag logo found on every bottle.
As a family-run distillery to this day, Glenfiddich has always embraced an innovative spirit. In 1963, while the world favored blended whiskies, Glenfiddich boldly promoted its 'Single Malt' concept, forever changing the industry. The distinctive triangular bottle, designed by Hans Schleger in 1961, symbolizes the three essential elements of whisky: water, air, and malt.
With an on-site team of coppersmiths and coopers, Glenfiddich maintains a commitment to traditional craftsmanship. Using the same Robbie Dhu spring water since its inception, the distillery ensures that every bottle of Glenfiddich 12 maintains the pure, floral, and fruity character that defines the brand.
