Located in the heart of Speyside, GlenAllachie was founded in 1967 and largely operated as a source for blended whiskies. This changed dramatically in 2017 when legendary master distiller Billy Walker acquired the distillery. With over 50 years of experience, Walker is famous for his strict wood management. His first move was reducing annual production from 4 million liters to 500,000 liters and extending fermentation to 160 hours to extract a purer, fruitier spirit.
The 15-year-old expression is a landmark of Walker's reforms. He personally inspects thousands of casks annually to ensure only peak-quality liquid is bottled. The use of Oloroso casks (providing nuts and spice) and PX casks (bringing sweet raisins and syrup) creates a profile of incredible depth. Under Billy's leadership, GlenAllachie has won numerous World Whiskies Awards (WWA). The 2024 redesign reflects a new era, yet the liquid remains consistent in its breathtaking complexity and balance.
