I've always had a slight bias towards wine casks, but seeing the good WB score and positive tasting notes from various sources, I took another look at the setup. It turns out it was matured in fine casks, for the same reason as the previous 19-year-old wine cask Bowmore, as both are part of the Suntory group. Chateau Lagrange is a third growth Bordeaux estate from the 1855 classification.

Tasting note from Master of Malt for reference-

Nose-
Red apples, strawberries and cream with a touch of sugar, a slow build of honeyed oak.

Palate-
Amaretti biscuits, raspberries, a touch of mead, dried cherries and lemongrass.

Finish-
Christmas spices, ginger biscuits and another helping of red berries.
